You do need a.com, otherwise you’ll end up in a secondary index of Google. That was another lesson I had to learn the hard way: the physical location of your hosting company influences your ranking in search engines (at least Google). You gotta promote your blog, otherwise you’ll never reach to your audience. I was so wrong.
