So, it's best to search for temporary, short-term admin work via temping, volunteering, applying for part time work so you have something to put on your resume. So when they get that job hunting email, it's just a typical update. Through volunteering, you can network and keep your pulse on the industry of your choosing.

You may think Twitter is only for posting what you had for lunch or Facebook is only for showing funny photos for your friends. Update (or build) your resume. The one I have trouble with is Twitter. You ask a very good question and I'm so glad you are being proactive with your job hunt and career. When I started out, no one really had a website/blog/Twitter/Facebook/MySpace so I just opened up the YellowPages and called every single one. 99% of temp jobs are for assistant, PA, or similar type positions.
