Hello New & Returning Readers, About 2 years ago I wrote an in-depth post about how I job hunt. Have more than one phone number and email address - Besides your personal cell number from your iPhone, get another free number just for job hunting or work. Yes, Facebook! This was 2011 and I got really lucky.

It's not near as much fun as say, watching to see if Lady Gaga will show up covered in raw eggs and bran cereal, but it's something I feel I need to do for my job. People depend on me to give them job hunting advice that will help them get out of the unemployment ranks. Today, the news wasn't so great. Do your homework.

There's enough instability right now in the economy that everyone -- and I mean everyone -- needs to be in active job-hunting mode. I also learned some disturbing information during my research : Most people only check out what's online about them several times a year. I say this to save your ass. and MSN right away.

Sites like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter are great for keeping tabs on your contacts, but nothing beats a face-to-face conversation for making strong connections. It's important to have a network and keep in contact with your old colleagues and coworkers, and let them know when you are job hunting. I just networked!"
