I recently attended an IAAP dinner meeting and we had a lawyer speak to us about the proper disposal of confidential documents. Do we consider that our children may unwittingly share confidential work information that they might see or hear us talking about on a social networking site such as Facebook?

Below are some things that I have found helpful to build my network: Join a professional association such as the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). IAAP is a group of assistants who get together and encourage each other in our jobs and careers. Read professional magazines when you get the opportunity.

Always get the persons permission and never post someone elses photo on a social networking site such as Facebook without asking the person first.
