A certification can certainly help you get promoted to an executive assistant position or be considered for an executive assistant position. You can get the designations that Brenda mentioned from IAAP which are the CAP and OM. It also promotes yourself for your next position. (BM). The classes are held in Las Vegas.

If you can prove yourself as a good worker you can go up through the ranks and because they already know how you work, they are more apt to promote you. If a more experienced assistant comes alongside you and provides mentoring - dont refuse it. I have seen admin assistants climb up the corporate ladder just that way. 411 Look Up 411.ca
