For example, if I have Microsoft Excel XP and would like to send a file to a client that only has Microsoft Excel 97 (which was a horrible disaster for Microsoft, since there were quite a few bugs in this version), you could save the file as a Microsoft Excel 97 version.

Can't Live Without Google. I do all my blog posts on Google Docs, I use Gmail as my primary account, and I appreciate how you can download whatever you type up in Google Docs into multiple formats to accommodate what other programs my clients may be using. Organize by project, and even use custom tags.
