Then you finally do reach a live person and you are so fed up with all of the time wasted, that you start fuming towards the person on the other end of the phone. Imagine how much more receptive the customer service representative would be if you tried to deal with your issue in a more positive manner. How would you feel?

I love how Google quietly and consistently adds new tools – and new capabilities to existing ones. A favorite tool of mine is Google Docs – spreadsheets in particular. Money, of course, is important, but what about the customer? Providing excellent customer service is crucial. Passing the buck to another co-worker or department can result in customer frustration and might end in a spin off of negative results. Keep in mind that they are the ones that are paying your salary.
