It’s not unheard of that while a CEO is about to retire they start looking about 2-5 years prior to their exit. You really enjoyed working there, but you look forward to learning new things and new adventures, etc. Look for a job CONFIDENTIALLY. I agree that is a very long time. Explain it in the same manner. Should you stay?
