I have been involved in conducting a few interviews for admin jobs and here are two of the main things I have noticed about those who are unsuccessful: resumes are out of date and not relevant to the job applied for and the person was not prepared for the interview. 1) Do try the temp agencies. 3) Find someone to mentor you.

A Job is Waiting to Happen to You Long gone are the days of scouring the newspaper want ads and pounding the pavement going from office to office submitting your resume. Employers may get to see a side of you other than what you put on your resume or present at the interview.

Q: You mentioned being headhunted consistently by Fortune 500 companies. A: I do agree doing all those basic employment tests are a drag, but companies still feel it's safe to do it and a good way to weed out candidates. They also take into consideration which C-Level executive you assisted and at which company.
