While you are at it, do as much automatic or online bill pay as you can - rent, phone bill, etc. Do a great job. Do a great job and learn to negotiate to a better salary or when you job hunt after you've gained a lot of experience. You can just write “Thx!” It usually takes me 3-4 days to answer.
