A long time ago I blogged about what to wear since I was interviewing for non-corporate roles or companies. It was also suggested to not have my hair up in a clip. As of late, I’ve been headhunted a lot and am running across the same dilemma. They just wanted to sit and chat. I was advised not to wear the suit.

For my entire career I've been dressing up the same way for a job interview in Hollywood. My dad brought up an interesting point about attire. I had to find something that was fashionable, yet appropriate office attire. I wear what I call the "publicist's outfit." What is the publicist outfit?

You don’t have to stay all day, but show up early enough to help if necessary, bring a dish if requested and stay long enough to enjoy the meal and offer some chit-chat. It’s fine to a have a drink to be social, but then stick to soda or water so that you stay hydrated – and aren’t so drunk you end up doing the hula on the table.
