When I receive an initial request for a meeting, I use a meeting form and write down the information I need: who is requesting the meeting, what is the purpose of the meeting, where it will be held and a phone number or an e-mail address and dates that are available. 411 Look Up 411.ca

I love to write, as you have probably noticed in some of my blog articles, so I try to keep that in mind and keep my e-mails short, but sometimes you need a little more information. If you have a few ideas or requests in your e-mail, it is best to set it out in point form so the person does not have to dig for it. Point being.

Sometimes e-mail is not the best way to communicate and it needs to be followed up by a phone call or face-to-face short meeting. Put it in a folder for your boss’s signature in completed form, i.e. envelope clipped to letter and attachments. I usually put a sticky note on it for that as well. I hope you find it helpful.

I can interact where I am now, but I have to get up and go if I want to speak with someone and then when I get there I may find they are busy or on the phone so I have wasted my time. All important information, but I knew I couldnt possibly retain much of what I was looking at in one sitting so I started to cheat and flip through a few tabs because I had to sign a form that I read the manual. Thanks for a great article. I basically know how to answer the phones and take messages. I have not had much guidance.

If there are forms that need to filled in and it has a due date in June, I put those forms in the June folder with a bf date on it for a week before it is due. I create a corresponding Task reminder and write something like this: WAITBIN need to prepare form for production by March 23rd. 411 Look Up 411.ca
