Thank goodness I get three tries to pick the right one before the system locks me out. On some sites there is an option to "Remember my password," which is helpful until your system crashes and you lose everything and then how are you ever going to remember what the password was in the first place since you havent had to enter it in a year?

Try to anticipate the need so you can have the file or the answer your boss needs, before he or she even knows they need it. Maintaining a good bring-forward system is important to have things ready when needed. A good assistant knows just where to find the document or file needed, or they won’t stop looking till they do.

At one office I worked in we had a mail cart with slots for everyones mail, but it was filed First name, Last name. the phone book, standard filing practices etc.) This goes for filing and also how your contacts are ordered in Outlook. If you open the contact card you will see in the first section File As.

In some organizations raises are tied to how well you do and it is also a record that is kept on your personnel file. Normally, I put something about needing to get my filing system up to date, but I think I may have missed the point when I have done that. I never know what to put down.

Bring Forward System or Using Tasks in Outlook Have a system to follow up on items your boss has asked you to do or things you know you need to do. This can be as simple as having hanging file folders marked from January to December and then you just put items in the appropriate month that you need to bring forward for your boss.
