When I started looking at the programme I thought to myself, I really want to put a conference together that truly inspires and empowers assistants. This is a big dream, but I hope the programme reflects my objectives for the conference. The conference is taking place at the very cool Proud Camden on the 8th and 9th February 2018.

Have the confidence to take the lead, be proactive and have a conversation with your boss. If you request to attend a Training Day and they say that time away from the office is the main issue, then you need to make the conference seem as undisruptive as possible. Meeting other assistants who work near by, who share the same suppliers, hotels, restaurants etc. I recently spoke at the Assist Conference in September 2015, and at Skyscanner’s Company Presentation in December to around 300 people. The main challenge these days is still lack of confidence. It is brilliant!

We will be at California HR on Monday, August 28th and HR Florida Conference & Expo on Tuesday, August 29th. During times of high demand, as we are seeing right now in the US, the labor market tilts in favor of the ‘suppliers’ – or individual workers. Employers face stiff competition for the limited talent pool.
