Despite my passion for social media I haven’t always been adept at it and was a twitter virgin until The Assist Conference 2015. It is never too late to add a new string to your bow and social media seems to be the way forward for the future Assistant. It is not going away. It could be listed on your company intranet.

Anyway here we are in 2014 and I hope that everyone is settling back into work after the Christmas and New Year break. I think assistants will have an interesting 2014, particularly as it is the International Year of the Secretary and Administrative Assistant with lots planned for our professional development. Meeting other assistants who work near by, who share the same suppliers, hotels, restaurants etc. This then took me into the arena of public speaking and gave me the opportunity to be on the PA panel at ACES 2014. I actually don’t have a laptop at home and conduct all my organising, social media and emailing through my iPhone.
