And I think that this has been changing since about 2008, which was when we had the great recession. People had employment gaps around that 2008-2009 time period. The other thing you can do is specifically address the gap in your cover letter. You can certainly do that in the cover letter.

Each had a resume, test scores of the tests they’d volunteered to take to show their abilities and each provided a cover letter and their hourly rate. The cover letters were of varying degrees – some addressed me as Sir/Madam or To Whom It May Concern while some called me by name.

The first was in AdminAdvantage (if you don't already subscribe to this publication - I highly endorse it), dated November - December 2008 ( [link] ). I've attempted to "channel" Ms. She "gets it" better than anyone else I've read or met.
