This was the spring of 2005. From there the trail hops back and forth over Slickrock Creek, which forms part of the border between North Carolina and Tennessee. About a year ago, I took up day hiking , spending a Saturday morning here and there going up to a mountaintop and back, mostly safe and short hikes on heavily traveled trails.
