Word of warning: There are a lot of stairs and ground to cover and no one to help with baggage, so only consider this option if you are travelling light. Newark International (EWR) , is in Newark, New Jersey and you can travel by train between Newark International Airport and Manhattan for as little as $12.50 Catch the Airtrain from your arrival terminal to Airtrain Station where you then can catch a New Jersey Transit train to New York’s Penn Station.

Luckily my hotel, The Colonnade, probably noticing all of the left over Subway wrappers invited me to sample the menu at their in-house restaurant, Brasserie Jo. for the first time, in a French restaurant in Boston. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pretty relaxed. Tucked away in the coroner of the restaurant the space would be great for a business meeting or after work drinks / dinner reception. Oh my guuuddd it was freezing in Boston.

According to a recent survey conducted by PA Life assistants spend at least 20% of their time organising travel. It’s like having a super-fast, all-knowing travel agent in your pocket. If your manager travels on one airline frequently it is worth downloading their app. This app is slightly expensive but worth paying for if your manager travels a lot. Tipping in restaurants around the world can be very confusing.

The reception area leads on to the restaurant area and to a small bar space – The Consulting Room which serves cocktails and afternoon tea. Haymarket train station is only 0.5 miles away and an easy walk for anyone arriving or departing by train. With the newspapers thoroughly read I made my way down to the restaurant for dinner. The Bonham, a 4 star boutique hotel, is situated in the West-end of Edinburgh.

To be fair I used to travel to university from St Pancras back in the early 2000′s and it was still a little rough around the edges but since then the area between two of London’s busiest train stations has changed completely. In 2011 the refurbished Renaissance opened and quickly became the hotel for Eurostar passengers and business travellers using St. Especially for those travelling to and from Europe via St. The restaurant is in a fantastic space.

It takes the hassle out of travel . I’ve had many managers that have used their private car for meetings, either picking clients up on the way to restaurants or the meeting venue. For example they can recommend good restaurants, point out local landmarks, suggest a sight seeing route and generally help your manager get to grips with the area. Ensuring our boss is able to get from A to B without any fuss or stress is a key task for assistants.

The building is now used for a variety of things including a boutique hotel, private apartments, events space, restaurants, shops and a brewery! Having just spent 10 hours on an overnight train from Chicago this was a huge relief! There are three restaurants – The Pan American Grill and Brewery, The Pearl Street Grill and Brewery and Brawler’s Back Ally Deli.

Getting off the train at Belfast Central Station I was slightly disappointed the weather was as wet and windy as Dublin, which was where I boarded the train. As there isn’t too much around the hotel itself (although within 10 minutes you are in the town centre) it was really handy having a cafe and restaurant on site. Breakfast was served in the Sonoma restaurant which has fantastic views of River Lagan and the famous docks.

I actually walked to the hotel from the central train station, which took about 15 minutes. On my return, the hotel restaurant and bar were buzzing. If your boss is going to Geneva on business Hotel N’vY is a smart choice – it is in a great location, the restaurant and bar are lovely, it is reasonably priced and it has character. I had never been to Geneva before so I didn’t quite know what to expect – except obviously a big lake.

Despite its slightly outlying location with a compact city like Dundee the hotel is still only 15mins taxi from the train station and only 10mins from the increasingly international focused airport on the banks of the River Tay. After travelling the 100 miles or so from Glasgow we arrived on a typically busy Saturday evening. Breakfast takes place in the conservatory conservatory-style, AA Rosette restaurant, The Maze.
