If you have negotiated a deal whereby you make advanced block bookings there is the possibility that you will miss out on those last-minute deals with other hotels and serviced apartment providers.

I knew we were going to go back to that city the next year so negotiated with the hotel that if I booked the next event at their venue would they waive the cancellation fee.
