Amazon comes in at #9 with a tagline piece of advice “what’s dangerous is not to evolve.&# The article is about the incredible sales of the Kindle. Of course, almost a year later, the Kindle isn’t new news but there was a statement in the article that was important enough for me to circle it and save: “There are two ways to extend a business. Take inventory of what you’re good at and extend out from your skills. Or determine what your customers need and work backward, even if it requires learning new skills. Kindle is an example of working backward.&# It is rare that a company begins its life or expands its offerings by first asking the customer what they want or need. If we start with the customer first – how would that change what we offer or how our business evolves? I talk with many entrepreneurs who ask “how many years did it take you before you refined your niche market.&# Or other veterans of business who say “my business today isn’t anything like what I thought it would be when I started.&# If we started with the customer first…would we get to our ideal business sooner? Get Organized: Something Every Woman Should Try to Do During Her.

Get Organized!

Organizing Tips | Organizing Products | Organizing Services Thursday, June 18, 2009 Get Organized: Something Every Woman Should Try to Do During Her Lifetime I was browsing through the June issue of Ali Magazine , when I flipped the page and saw "20 Things Every Woman Should Try to Do During Her Lifetime" pop out at me. I was immediately intrigued -- I love reading stuff that challenges you to think and do out-of-the-box. And to my pleasant surprise, organizing made the list at #19! According the the author, "On October 10 of every year, make a vow to fill up 10 trash bags full of things in and around your home that are simply taking up space! De-clutter the environmental chaos of your life that takes up room and decide to let it go.throw away, donate, or give away the items to people.who may find them as appealing as you once did!" (Thats easy to remember, too - 10 bags on the 10th day of the 10th month.) When you think about it, it makes sense that organizing would be included in such a list. Because when you get organized, it gives you this indescribable feeling. Youre finally free! Youre no longer tied to the chaos, and its no longer tied to you. And while it may not be bungee jumping or walking on fire, its an equally important high.one that will impact your life forever -- in a really good way. So tell me, how does organization enrich your life? Labels: Carmen Coker , Get Organized Blog Post , Motivation , Organizing Archives , Organizing Tips posted by Carmen @ 9:00 AM 4 Comments 4 Comments: At Friday, June 19, 2009 , MJ Doyle said. It's great that organizing is being recognized for the important part that it, and the lack of it, plays in our lives. I would have to say though that de-cluttering should be an on-going routine instead of a once-a-year job. I cant' imagine if I saved all my purging for only once a year! Although I do get the author's point about being able to remember 10 bags in the 10 month. At Friday, June 19, 2009 , Carmen said. I couldn't agree more! I advocate doing a major purge at least 2 times a year, if not more. But I guess 1 time is better than no time. :) At Friday, June 19, 2009 , Anonymous said. I think 1 bag on the 12th of every month is a much bettet plan. You would have 12 bags a year and declutter each month. that way your home doesn't become cluttered. At Friday, June 19, 2009 , Carmen said. That's a great idea! Simple, easy, effective.I like it. :) Post a Comment Subscribe to Post Comments [ Atom ] << Home FREE Tip Kit 10+ Pages of Tips & Tools to Help You Get Organized — Finally!
