I work in a back office environment, where 99% of our client interaction is via the phone, e-mail or outside of the office, so I can wear jeans and a t-shirt. However, for business casual and business dress environments, Im still a purist. That goes for men and women. No jeans, no shorts, no capris.

If my co-worker in the next cubicle is away and someone comes looking for her I usually know where she has gone as we regularly call out to each other where we are going as we rush off to do a photocopying job or send a fax. There are advantages and disadvantages to hearing your neighbours in a work environment.

With Blackberry technology you can get your emails, retrieve your phone messages and get work-related phone calls from home, on the road or from a beachfront hotel in the Bahamas. I think I need the structure of the office environment to keep myself on track. I would also miss the social side of working with my co-workers.

Telemarketing is my number one annoyance in advertising and as soon as I answer the phone and get that few seconds of dead air, that is my queue to hang up. Fax Blasts I remember someone from my IAAP Chapter asked me to fax the notice of our Chapter dinner to a list of about 60 companies to promote it. Oh, I agree.
