As you are job hunting, think hard about if you want to temp, freelance, do contract work, temp-to-hire, or direct hire roles only and under which circumstance. When recruiters have to hire someone ASAP little things get overlooked - such as the person doesn't know how to use a MAC. Job hunt with focus.

Also, ask in a manner so they know you would love the rec sometime in the next 2-3 weeks, not ASAP. I also urge you to get more than one rec from a role or company.

Recently, a temp worker at my job gave me another Google tip. Finally, I asked her how she knew the answers and what was she doing to get the information? It was then she introduced me to Google. I have loved it ever since and that is when my list of handy Favourites was born. Google has an information line ( 1 800 466 4411 ).
