Administrative Professionals Day / Week 2019 (APW) is fast approaching. There has been a good deal of controversy around this "holiday" over the past few years. I can't tell you how many emails and calls I have received over the years from devastated admins who did not receive even a card or a verbal thank you. Need some ideas?

I’d spent most of the holiday scrubbing the cabinets of a rental home, fixing a crack in the ceiling and painting the living room. My father, the star of our family, died at the start of 2019. Before 2019 was out, I’d turn 40, Laura and I would each accept unexpected job offers and a publisher would sign me up for a book deal.

A 2019 study of a Swiss population found that people who napped once or twice weekly had fewer cardiovascular issues. If I didn’t nap in time, I would lie there forever missing important emails and sacrificing deadlines. When I’m worrying about deadlines or missed emails, the last thing I want to do is rest. Probably not.
