The man I interviewed with was very nice, but was concerned about my lack of legal experience. He said he was concerned about my rusty legal experience. He assured me that he would take care of the legal side of it, if I would keep my end of the deal and work hard and fast. He taught me everything I know about the legal field. Being a member is not only a great place for networking, but for mentoring and learning of jobs in your area. I work as a legal assistant and it has been my experience that law firms look for very qualified people. In 1985 I left the office to be a stay-at-home mom. By 1995 when I tried to get back into the administrative field the landscape had changed. In Canada it was becoming increasingly difficult to find a job where you didn’t need to know both English and French.
