Turning to network members, and especially other freelancers, for support, advice and encouragement is a logical way to deal with this stress - and stay sane. Upon reflection - and with the help of a few follow-up interviews - we realized this makes perfectly good sense.

Instead, we started using "work/life flexibility" This term fit what we were hearing in our interviews and seeing in our survey results. Some spaces, like the creative industry focused  Neuehouse,  even stress their role of providing spaces that blend social and work activities.

  The  Towers Watson's 2013/2014 Global Benefits Attitude Survey has an interesting chart (below) showing the substantial reduction in benefits by U.S. Add in growing workloads and work related stress  and it's easy to see why so many employees are disengaged from their jobs. and start small businesses.
