" The survey respondents split almost evenly between full-time content creators (52%) and part-time content creators (48%). This likely means it was a convivence sample of some sort.

" As part of the study BCG surveyed 11,000 workers in 11 countries: the US, the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Sweden, Japan, India, Indonesia, China, and Brazil. BCG took a different approach to their survey than others have. They're also consistent in finding most gig workers chose gig work and most prefer it over other options.

The Institute for Local Self-Reliance recently released its 2019 Independent Business Survey. As the study chart below shows (click to enlarge), the survey respondents listed Amazon as their biggest challenge. A sample more reflective of the overall small business sector of the economy would not be as negative on Amazon.

For example, the Wall Street Journal article Facebook Tops for Small Business reported on a survey that found small businesses quite positive about social media. Another point of view comes from Citibank.

Many excellent studies, including some of ours, have small sample sizes. The quick summary is UK's gig workers have a lot in common with those from the U.S.

The survey, which we worked on, was constructed to provide a statistically valid sample of all independent workers (self-employed, contractors, freelancers, etc.) in the U.S.
