That also goes for new processes and tasks. It was a big group and I wasn't sure how I was going to get the attendance straight when I hadn't met most of the participants before. Now after my second meeting, I only had to ask my colleague who one person was. Everyone else has become familiar. Some of the things are becoming routine.

I have changed the format somewhat to concentrate more on the actual minute-taking process, but there is more to minute taking than just taking the minutes. Having confidence and knowledge is half the battle.

For instance I really like organizing things and have a little jump to my step whenever I start the planning process for an event. I am in the process of developing testing for admin interviews and I really enjoyed doing that. Over the years you start to see what things about your job spark the most interest.

Sending Private E-mails

The same process needs to be repeated for each e-mail sent. This would most likely be the case in the boss/assistant relationship as many assistants are given access to their boss's e-mail account. File New Message > Options button on the toolbar (or View / Options). Message Settings / Sensitivity - change to Private.

At one place I worked we were told by the post office to put the City, Province/State, Postal/Zip Code information on one line as follows for better mail processing: OTTAWA ON K1R 1A2 Canada I was also taught that the proper spacing should be: City (one space) Province/State Abbreviation (two spaces) Postal/Zip Code.
