At my new job I have things like UNGASS, NGO, UNODC, VNGOC to learn the meanings of. In a law office we use words like sine die, prima facie and other latin words quite often. I still haven't figured out what most of them mean, but I know how to spell them at least. I have been doing my homework however to find out the meanings.

You wouldn't believe how much I learn each time I give a minute-taking or travel webinar. If there is sharing of information among the admins, then we can learn from each other and we all grow. Because I am giving the webinar I have to review the material and make sure I know my stuff. The audience will certainly know it if I don't.

I find listening and learning from my co-workers is a great way to learn new techniques. Or maybe you will use a combination of things that you have used in various offices. But don't limit yourself to only the things you have used before. If they have been in the job for a long time, I listen even closer.

Read and learn as much as possible. Probation The probation period is a good time for both parties to get to know each other, to learn about the job responsibilities and to determine if they are a good fit for the organization.
