How to Manage a Micro-Manager

Eat Your Career

There’s nothing worse than feeling like you’re being smothered, and micro-managers are really good at making you feel that way. How do assistants ensure their emails are read?

Practically Perfect PA

Pin It. I got back from my holiday last week to discover over 200 emails for me to read, delete, action and generally sort through (I’d only been away for 4 days and that included the weekend)! Moxie Tip 285: Take Care of Yourself to Take Care of Your Clients

Tell your clients you’re sick, and push deadlines back (or let them do stuff themselves—you do have a kick-ass policies and procedures doc for each client that gives them step-by-step instructions about how to do their own stuff, don’t you?). In truth, there’s next to nothing work related that can’t wait a day or two—but your health isn’t going to improve if you don’t take care of yourself, or worse, if you push yourself forward when you should rest.

But if you do, then it won't happen again, so if it's happened again, you either weren't paying attention and taking appropriate action, or something else happened to allow the thing to
