It has been my experience that using Spell Check never replaces proofreading a document. I have proofed documents where the person has relied only on Spell Check and the outcome has been comical. I remember reading a document and instead of its they had written tits. Bloopers to be sure, funny yes, but professional - NO!

I document everything and that is how I keep track. So I document that as well. If I am waiting to hear back from someone, that is documented as well. I need to file save many documents once I find them and so far I have not found a way to do that in Microsoft Edge.

Viewing Gridlines in a Table in Word

When I create a table in Word I like to see the gridlines (the faint lines that tell you there is a line there, but if you print the document you won't see any lines). I like this especially for minute taking as I use a minute template document created by using a table. Item name a. sub item b. sub item c.

I upgraded to the professional package offered by Dropbox so I can receive documents and recordings (I was already running out of space). I bought a new computer and subscribed to a plan for IT support so I have an IT person at my beck and call. So I think I have all those bases covered. I am hoping my niche will set me apart from the rest.

To open a new blank document in Word, press Ctrl n. To open a document, press Ctrl o. Ctrl F4 will close the document, Alt F4 will close the document and the program. If you haven't saved the document, it will prompt you to Save, Don't Save or Cancel. Or you can press Ctrl s before you close it.

If an admin assistant is preparing a document for their boss, they should ensure it is as complete and accurate as possible before even passing it by their desk. Spell check - This is the easiest part of proofing a document. Final check the document - If you have an opportunity to check your work with someone else, that is ideal.
