The one we are probably most familiar with is of course Ctrl Alt Delete. The regular formatting ones such as Ctrl b , Ctrl i , Ctrl s and Ctrl u etc. do work, but some of the others do not work in Outlook, Excel or PowerPoint. I think we all know what that one is for.

I was at a course recently for new supervisors and they recommended smiling on the phone. Of course, my boss interrupts me constantly throughout the day, but then again he is my boss and I am there to assist him. It is hard to smile without it changing your outlook and reaching others, even over the phone.

When it gets closer to the course date and it doesnt look like they will fill the seats, they offer the course at a cheaper price. They can slot you into courses, either online or live classrooms that are happening tomorrow or later on.

Of course when I hear the ring, I do check … Before you set up the rule, you should first set up the folder where you want it to go. I have gotten in the habit of checking Outlook regularly. This is especially helpful when I am drafting minutes. It is nice to just focus on that and not be interrupted so much.

When using e-mail to send a resume (of course after checking the instructions), I have on occasion sent it from my work e-mail account, but it would be wiser to use your home account. It is too easy to leave a paper trail and there is not enough privacy while sending. There are off-site places you can go to send faxes for a small fee.
