And finally, you should do research on the company where you are applying. I asked one person I was interviewing if they had heard of our company and she said that she got an email alert that there was a position and she immediately applied for it. Even after she told us this, she didn't ask any questions about the company.

Although I understand why she would want that, I thought an easier way would be to break it down as follows: Will it embarrass the company? Is there little or no impact to the company or your boss? Definitely something your boss should be deciding, not the admin. Will it inconvenience your boss?
