Do you ever get a meeting request and an agenda has not been provided, or if it is a teleconference the call-in details have not been given or the boardroom hasnt been booked for an internal meeting? When booking meetings ownership of the meeting has to be established. Is the boardroom booked? Whose responsibility is it anyway?

I don't believe in judging a book by its cover, but I was amazed at how easily my mind went there and how I equated how she looked to what she had to say. Our organization set it up for Admin Professionals' Week. Unfortunately, my first impression of the speaker was not very good because she was dressed down and looked rather frumpy.

But my teacher in highschool always used to say, "When in doubt, look in the phone book". The phone book is filed alphabetically and you can always use that as a reference. Although if you look at the attached PDF 1 you will note that they don't agree with my teacher on the phone book idea.

Another way you can accomplish this is to have a meeting book just for meetings with your boss where you can write questions you need to ask or insert items you need direction on. This can be as simple as a lined note book, but restricted only for meetings with your boss. I call it the CEO folder.

Since we both book meetings for him, it is important if we have proposed dates for a meeting that we secure them in his calendar so one of us doesn''t use it for another meeting. I share the CEO''s Outlook calendar with my assistant.

They had booked the space for November 8th. I knew we were going to go back to that city the next year so negotiated with the hotel that if I booked the next event at their venue would they waive the cancellation fee. If you are not sure of the number of people who will be booking, then give them a rough estimate.

do they require a hotel room, restaurant reservations, rental car, meeting room booked etc.? Oftentimes you are able to book them a room in the hotel the conference is being held at. Depending on how busy you are and your office policy, you can decide whether you prefer to book it yourself or use a travel agency.

It was too late then to make changes, the flights had already been booked, but that was not fair to the others in the office. I recall a few years ago, someone in my office submitted their vacation request and attached their flight itinerary to the form. If you plan in advance then it is easier to accommodate each other's schedules.

If you need to book hotel, air or a car rental as part of the meeting planning, I put the appointment in the calendar with confirmation numbers and toll free numbers to call if they need assistance. Nobody likes to be over booked. Make sure that what you are putting in the calendar is doable.

I purchased a small address book in which I can keep the website address along with my user name and/or password for each particular site. Using the address book allows me to keep websites alphabetically rather than searching through pages of a notebook or sticky notes in all states of disarray. August 02, 2010 Patricia Robb said.

Judith Kallos of Netmanners.com has written four books on the subject of e-mail etiquette so I asked her and she said the correct spelling is e-mail and she got her information from the "Chicago Manual of Style". The full name is electronic mail and I have seen it written either e-mail or email. So there you have it folks. E-mail is correct!

Now This is a Chair with my Name on it My chair at work is ergonomic and suitable for sitting in front of a computer all day, but I'd much rather be sitting here with my laptop writing a book. When I hear someone speak or I read a book and the author is skilled in the area of conflict management, I get good ideas and tools for dealing with conflicts and it is very helpful. Bob Wall has written an excellent book on the subject. [1] I think we need to be equipped to handle situations that come up at work and at home.

Sometimes when I get these e-mails I feel it was just a "forward to all my address book" type of mailing and that the person didn't personally have me in mind when they were sending it. If I am passing on an e-mail, I do not send it to my whole address book, but only a select few who might appreciate it, others may not!
