I love how Google quietly and consistently adds new tools – and new capabilities to existing ones. A favorite tool of mine is Google Docs – spreadsheets in particular. Imagine how much more receptive the customer service representative would be if you tried to deal with your issue in a more positive manner. Would it also be nice for the client to call every so often to commend your company on something that they did right and went above and beyond the call of duty?

Money, of course, is important, but what about the customer? Providing excellent customer service is crucial. Passing the buck to another co-worker or department can result in customer frustration and might end in a spin off of negative results. Keep in mind that they are the ones that are paying your salary.
