The way I would do it is that I would create a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for the month. Call logs can easily be viewed using a spread sheet for cost analysis purposes. I used to track calls for one of my past employers, when I used to work at a securities firm as an Investment Advisor Assistant.

Here is a useful little video tutorial which takes you through the entire process in overview for a simple excel model. Simulate Basic costs $479 per year and allows you private and bigger models (up to 2000 equations) but only 1 simulation. More about ezViz later when I look at data visualisation tools.

We conducted two surveys: the first (using Microsoft Excel ) included twenty questions, which allowed us to cover the 10 areas with two questions per area. Effort/Cost/Resource Usage.
