2015 Travel Trends

There are already  lots of 2015 travel trend lists out.  According to the World Travel Market Global Trends report golf is in a decline, dropping from 25 million players in the early 2000s to 19 million in 2013. They expect these fares to continue to decline in 2015 due to increased competition. It's not just me.

2015 Freelancing in America Study Released

The Freelancers Union and Upwork released their 2015 Freelancing in America study last week. While they don't explicitly state how many of their respondents report having multiple sources of income, two of their freelancer categories - moonlighters and diversified workers - clearly have multiple income sources. million people.

1 in 5 Humans Got a New Smartphone in 2015

in 2015 to a total of 1.43 In other words, 1 out of every 5 people in the world got a new smartphone in 2015. Gartner is forecasting 2015 mobile phone shipments (smart and otherwise) of 1.9 billion, which means 26% of humans got a new cellphone (smart and otherwise)  in 2015.  billion units.

The Long Term Shift in Business Applications to Solopreneurs

But as the chart below shows (click to enlarge), by 2015, 57% of new applications were from solopreneurs (orange in the chart).    Because EINs are needed for tax reporting, almost all employer businesses and most solopreneurs have them.   The data comes from the U.S.

And the JWt Intelligence Future 100 Report: 2020 takes 226 pages to cover them.  Yes, they really do have 100 trends. But we vote against this trend.
