In the services game, soft skills always trump hard skills. The reason? Hard skills can be learned by anyone, but soft skills are hard-won, and not easy or fast to learn. If your practice relies mainly on your hard skills, why would someone pay you when they fan get the tasks done for significantly less elsewhere? Assuming that they are paying you, chances are they're digging your soft skills, and the hard skills are secondary.
