I’ve worked for a number of companies all operating in diverse industries. in this time there have been many differences between each employer and how they have treated me as an employee. One area that seems to change particularly from job to job is remuneration and performance reviews. In my first full-time job I had quarterly performance reviews with my manager, half-yearly appraisals and at the end of every year a full review and 360° feedback with my team.

Over the last few years I’ve changed employers a number of times and so have had to face quite a few interviews. After finishing university in 2003 I was lucky because there were plenty of jobs available in London. I went for one interview at a global accountancy firm and had a full-time permanent role as a team administrator straight away. However, this just isn’t the case anymore.
